WELL, THREE YEARS AFTER MY LAST UPDATE TO THIS SITE
(yeah, I suck), MY SECOND DREAM CAR IS GONE!! :(

What happened to my latest Talon?? How did I wreck this one??
Well, how about you read through the rest of the history first....
On April 8th, 1999 (15 days short of a year from when I picked up my LAST
car),
I had delivered to my doors a black, 1997 Eagle Talon TSi AWD.
The vehicle was
purchased privately, here in Regina, and came with only 16,664 KMs
(my other car had about
25,600)!! This car sat in a garage all winter and looks pretty
new with only a couple little
stone chips and small scratches to speak of.

I had wanted a red Eagle Talon, or maybe white. Since production of these cars has stopped,
they're
near impossible to find, and I didn't have much say when it came to options and colors.
Everyone
that has seen the car so far have said they like this one better than the red.
Black's very hard
to keep clean and it really shows up scratches.
Plus, black just doesn't stand out as well as red.
There was nothing nicer than taking my old car for a drive,
after a wash and wax on a hot,
sunny, summers day. Ahhh well....

After my ACCIDENT, there was no way I wanted a sunroof anymore,
but this new car has one.
It also has a standard transmision, rather than the automatic I'm used
to.
The last standard I had driven was the '95 Talon I learned on. That was only for
about three months too.
It took a little while to get back in the swing of things,
but after owning my new car for a few months, I'd
never want to go back.
The only other difference between this car and my old one, is this one doesn't have ABS.
I've heard of people buying sports cars without ABS, but it's an option I would have liked.
Other than that, the car is loaded. I hope to have a lot more pictures shortly -- once
I figure out HOW to take a decent picture of a black vehicle.

Check out my QUARTER MILE TIMES page.
My very first time on a 1/4 Mile Track took place on July 16th,
1999, along with my fellow members of Saskatchewan DSM
(the provincial Talon club I founded in 1999 and ran for 3 years).
I was running with all the "free" mods, along with a David Brode Upper Intercooler Pipe
and a crushed, 1G BOV. I had an Air-Fuel Controller hooked up as well, but it had
yet to be tuned and was adjusted to stock levels. I was running Esso 92
Octane gas and was still learning to drive my standard. ;-)
My best time of the day was a 15.28 at 88.91mph.
That's about .02 of a second faster than an expert driver in a stock talon. :-)

Okay, so what's the story with this ride being no more?
Been a busy-bee over the past three years that my site hasn't been udpated.....
Got a girlfriend, convinced her to buy a '95 TSi AWD, moved out of my parent's place,
built a house, got a cat, got engaged, went through a few different jobs, got married,
got a dog, got a lot of debt, and now got a Pontiac Sunfire!! Of all things....
With bills to pay, it came down to the house or my car.
So, on August 12, 2003, I signed over the papers to an individual from Saskatoon
and we traded vehicles, plus a little extra cash for my troubles. ;)
My car had about 96,000km on it when sold. So that's about 80,000 worth of driving
over the 4.5 years I owned my baby (less than 18,000 a year = under average).
My "For Sale" website page is where the new owner came
across my car, and that page can be seen HERE.
End of an era, and the funny thing is that this car left me for the exact same
reasons as for the previous owner - a new house and a marriage (ie. Mortgage payments and a wedding).
Very sad day, but at least I now have a modified Pontiac Sunfire to show for it.
Cha, right.... See this piece of crap by clicking on the BACK button below.
